Buying Power is a purchasing consortium involved in the sourcing of a comprehensive contract support package for building products to its members.
The long-term intention is to expand the product range to incorporate all sectors of the building product spectrum and operate on a national basis.
The company has a proven sales and marketing operation, based on telephone sales with trained operators who have sold products to builders and sub contractors for the past ten years and was established by Donald Beskine.
Buying Power targets small/ medium builders, sub contractors, and developers with a VAT registration and up to a turnover of approximately £ 1½ million. The status of each member will vary from individual, partnership, to limited company.
At the present time it has a membership base of 16,000 cardholders and is increasing all the time.
Because of the range of products and contract support packages offered to members it retains the loyalty of is membership base and increasingly preferred suppliers, (manufacturers, builders merchants wholesalers distributors) are used to obtain the majority of products purchased by the member.
Buying Power offers a range of products to its members, which includes not only materials, but indirect services used by the building trade, such as insurance, vehicles, mobile phones, computer pricing packages, and health and safety documentation and it is intended to increase the range of products offered in this area.
Members are charged an annual fee for membership.
Buying Power will market your products to existing membership and agree a marketing strategy to market your products to potential new members in your designated area, it will also circulate, new products special offers and any other promotional literature to its membership. This is completed together with other documentation sent to its members.
Buying Power operates via the determined supply channels of the manufacture or supplier either with builders merchants, wholesalers, and distributors, and a preferred supplier determines the method in which the member sources the product and the contract package, and this is highlighted by Buying Power in it documentation with its member.
In certain instances manufactures do refer all enquiries from Buying Power members to themselves and then passes these to distributors or wholesalers of their choice.
Buying Power has established relationships with builder’s merchants, distributors and wholesalers to honour the support packages offered by manufactures or suppliers.
Buying Powers has a range of preferred suppliers, from multi-national companies to small-medium regional suppliers.
Preferred suppliers can limit the area in which it operates and any tariffs and minimum charges it wishes to impose, the end supplier determines the payment methods to Buying Power members.
Buying Power does not enter into any agreement regarding credit or supply any goods to its members it purely recommends preferred suppliers to its members.
Buying Power communicates to its memberships via mail, fax, e/mail, or increasingly via its Web Site. which it used, increasingly used by its membership, a guest tour. , Click the product required, click Go this will give example of web page of preferred suppliers, which will help, understand the total concept and operating structure.
